US, European, and UK sizing for men and women, plus the brand charts we get asked about most. Use these as a starting point, not gospel — sizing varies by brand and by style within a brand.

The part a chart can't tell you

Width, Not Just Length

Most people who think they need a bigger size actually need a wider one. Come into any of our four stores and we'll measure both feet — length, width, and arch length — for free. No appointment.

We stock wide and 2E in most brands and 4E in select styles. If you've been sizing up to get room, width is probably what you actually need.

Birkenstock

Birkenstock uses European sizing only. There's no half size — if you're between, we'll tell you which way to go for the style you're looking at.

Regular or narrow footbed

Birkenstock regular vs narrow footbed comparison

Check the footprint symbol stamped on the footbed to tell which width you have. Not every style comes in both.

Blundstone

Every Blundstone boot has the AU/UK size stamped on the sole, but you order in US sizes. So the number on the bottom of the boot won't match the size you bought — that's normal, not a mistake. An AU/UK 8 is a US men's 9 or a US women's 11.

Getting the fit right

  • They fit true to size. The leather stretches and molds over time, so if you want a roomier fit, go up a half size rather than a full one.
  • You want a slight give in the heel and about a quarter inch in front of your longest toe.
  • They stretch across the instep with wear, never in length. If it's short now, it stays short.
  • Try them standing up, in the socks you'll actually wear with them.
  • The Classic series runs a bit wider than the Originals and comes with extra insoles to fine-tune the fit.
  • The Dress series runs a little long. Some people go down a half size in those.

A chart gets you close. It doesn't get you fit. One foot is almost always bigger than the other, feet spread with age, and the same size runs differently between a Samba and an Ultraboost. That's why we measure every time you come in.
