Your Heel Should Lift
In a closed-back Dansko clog, your heel moves up and down freely as you walk. That's how it's designed. People try them on, feel the heel come out, and assume the shoe is too big — it isn't.

Widths — Narrow, Medium and Wide
Most Dansko styles come in medium only, but the Professional clog comes in N, M and W. That's unusual in a clog, and it's the answer for a lot of guys who assumed Dansko wouldn't work for them.

If You're a Half Size
There's no half size in Dansko, so you round. For closed-back clogs and boots, size up — a 9½ takes a 43. For open-back clogs and sandals, size down, because those support the full length of the foot and a longer one slides.
How a Dansko Should Fit
Closed-back clogs
- Toes shouldn't touch the front — you want room to wiggle
- About a pinky's width between your heel and the back of the clog
- Your heel lifts freely as you walk. That's correct, not loose
- The arch of the footbed should line up with the arch of your foot
They break in
Danskos feel stiff out of the box and mold to your foot over the first week or two. They loosen with wear — they never shrink. So if it's too big now, it stays too big.
Which One
Professional — the original clog, and the one in every kitchen. Comes in three widths.
XP 2.0 — the Professional with a slip-resistant outsole and a lighter build. If you're on wet floors, this is the one.
Wyatt and Walker — closed lace-ups when a clog isn't right for the dress code.
Thomas and Timothy — waterproof boots.
