You Need a Wide Sock
Standard sock patterns are cut for narrow feet. On a wide foot they stretch thin across the ball, dig in at the top of the calf, and leave a mark. Most people assume that's just how socks feel.
What a Too-Narrow Sock Does
- Stretches thin across the widest part of your foot — right where you need cushion most
- Leaves a ring at the top of the calf
- Pulls the toe seam back over your toes and creates a pressure point
- Rolls down through the day because it's fighting your leg
- Wears out fast at the ball and heel from being stretched past what it was knit for
None of that is your feet's fault. Sock standards were written for narrow legs, and nobody bothered to write new ones — until this mill did.
