Court Shoes Aren't Running Shoes
A lot of men play tennis or pickleball in running shoes. Running shoes are built to go forward. Court shoes are built for side to side, with a tougher outsole and more support along the edges. It's easier on your ankles, and the soles last.

Running and Walking
Gel-Kayano 32 and 31 — stability
Our best-selling ASICS. For feet that roll in, with plenty of cushion under you. Up to size 15.
Gel-Nimbus 28 — the most cushion
ASICS's softest everyday shoe. Neutral, for feet that don't need the extra support. Up to size 14.
Gel-Cumulus 28 — everyday
A lighter neutral shoe for walking and easy runs. The Cumulus 27 also comes in 4E.
Novablast 5 and Superblast 3 — bouncy
Springier foam for runners who want some pop.
Gel-Kinsei Max
Lots of cushion in a bolder look.
How ASICS Should Fit
- Stand up when you check the length. About a thumb's width past your longest toe
- No heel slip when you walk
- Court shoes should feel snugger through the middle than a running shoe
- Wide foot? Ask for the Cumulus 27 or Nimbus 26 in 4E
Why We Carry It
Gel in the heel, a stability shoe that doesn't feel stiff, and court shoes that hold up to hard play. One brand covers the runner, the walker and the guy with a standing pickleball game. The Kayano and Nimbus also work well for a lot of men with plantar fasciitis.
