Size and Footbed Width
Birkenstock runs in European sizes with no half sizes, and comes in a regular or narrow footbed. Get either wrong and the shoe never feels right. Come in and we'll sort both in five minutes.

Regular or Narrow Footbed
Check the footprint symbol stamped on the footbed — a wider outline is regular, a narrower one is narrow. If you always wear narrow shoes and don't have a wide forefoot, narrow is probably yours. Not every style comes in both.
Your Foot Should Sit Inside the Footbed
Toes about a finger's width from the front, heel in the cup, no overhang at the sides. That's the fit. If your foot is spilling over the edge, the sandal is too small no matter how the length feels.
