They Can Get Wet
Cork and suede don't like water. EVA doesn't care. Pool, beach, boat, rain, the garden. When they get dirty, rinse them off with soap and water.
Same Arch Support as the Classic
Most pool and beach sandals are flat. These aren't. You still get the raised arch, the deep heel cup and the toe bar from the classic Birkenstock footbed. If you wear cork Birkenstocks for your arches or for plantar fasciitis, this is the pair for the days cork can't go.
No Break-In
Cork molds to your foot over a week or two. EVA doesn't. It feels the same the first day as it does a year later. A lot of people keep a cork pair for everyday and an EVA pair by the door.
Keep Them Out of the Heat
EVA can shrink or warp in high heat. Don't leave them in a hot car or baking in the sun all afternoon, and don't put them in the dryer. In New Orleans in August, that matters.
Sizing
European sizes, no half sizes, same as classic Birkenstock. Most people wear the same size as their cork pair. Full size chart.
